About Pete Thompson
I’m originally from County Durham in the North East of England and have been a passionate creative from a young age. I was, and continue to be inspired by great movie artists like Drew Struzan, Ray Harryhausen, Ralph McQuarrie and Reynold Brown, as well as album cover artwork by the likes of Roger Dean & Rodney Matthews.
I studied Graphic Design and Illustration at college in Durham then spent a number of years doing small commissions and focusing on my other great passion, music.
My first professional break was in computer games working on everything from storyboards to character design and packaging to marketing / advertising artwork. Over time I moved into concept art for production design in movies and have been lucky enough to work with Marvel several times and won an Art Directors Guild award in 2015 for Guardians of the Galaxy and was nominated in 2017 for Doctor Strange.
A showcase of my work can be found in the official "Art of" movie books by Marvel and my full biography of movie experience can be found on IMDB.
